Kristina Masyuk

Born in 1987 in the Republic of Belarus. In 2011 she graduated in World Economics from the International Institute of Labour and Social Relations. She lives and works in Soligorsk.
Kristina works in textile, building relief compositions from raw cotton. Folds and seams form an expressive plastic language that refers back to the structures of folk textile — rushnyk cloths, homespun linens, hand stitching.
The painstaking, almost ritual process of assembly reframes women's labour as an act of making and of care, in which the material becomes the carrier of the immaterial: memory, connection, belonging.
