Polina Shutova

Born in 1994.

Graduated from the Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Design and Applied Arts. She has exhibited since 2015, developing a practice across sculpture, drawing and design in parallel.

She works in ceramics, plaster and a range of graphic techniques, examining the plastic possibilities of a material and how they connect to an idea. What matters to her is the search for harmony, balance and beauty — traditional as well as ironic, living and subjective.

Many of her projects are built on a dialogue with the art of earlier periods: she turns to historical forms and images, drawing out where they intersect with the present and what universal meaning they still carry.
