Bound Together

Bound Together is a project about the nature of connection — about how one thing catches on another, and how the harmony of a single cloth comes out of many separate movements, some of them incompatible, some contradictory.

The word behind the title carries several senses at once. For one person it is a book’s binding, for another a knot, for a third a tangled story. The exhibition is about all of them together: about material meeting material, technique catching on technique, one story interlacing with the next.

The artists work in different, almost opposite materials — clay, textile, metal. The focus is not on what separates them but on what they share: every work here is held by the same principle of interlacing.
